God of life and love, at this time of transition with the leadership of the United States of America, we pray for a spirit of unity and healing among all peoples in our country. We lift up in prayer all newly elected leaders of our nation. Heal us from our differences and empower us to pursue the common good, working for justice and peace at home and around the world.
As Sisters of the Holy Redeemer, our charism calls us to incarnate the forgiveness and compassion of Jesus Christ in a holistic manner bringing healing to persons of all ages and classes who experiencing poverty in all of its forms. This commitment calls us to be present to the brokenness of others, to “suffer with” them, and to mirror the compassionate presence of Jesus in the Gospels.
May we and all those who share in our Redeemer charism and spirituality receive from your Son, Jesus, all that we need as we continue to be faithful to the mission entrusted to us through Mother Alphonse Maria. Just as Jesus walked among the people, valuing the dignity, uniqueness and beauty of each person, sharing in their lives and rendering service by loving each one unconditionally, so do we share in the human experience of joys and sorrows, hopes and fears. May we recognize your Spirit moving among us – the same spirit that formed and reformed the hearts of all Sisters of the Holy Redeemer who have gone before us.
Drawn by God’s mercy to the service to all,
clothed in God’s love to be a loving presence to all
sent to heal a broken, fragile world .....
transform our hearts with your grace to practice non-violence in all aspects of our lives by choosing never to disregard nor dismiss anyone, no exceptions.
We offer this prayer with hope-filled and open hearts. Amen
