This year’s theme, “Mercy - Hearts of Love in Action”, is inspired by the Holy Year of Mercy announced by Pope Francis. The Year of Mercy began on December 8, 2015 and will conclude on November 20, 2016. This is an extraordinary jubilee that is to have the mercy of God at its center. As a Catholic Health System, our health care and social service ministry is rooted in a tradition that recognizes God’s special love for the fragile in our midst and professes to continue that love.
The System-Wide Redeemer Week committee has identified a heart as the symbol to represent this year’s theme: Mercy - Hearts of Love in Action”. It reminds us of our invitation to love, kindness, compassion and unbounded generosity.
This year, Redeemer week will take place April 18 - 23. A number of events and prayer services will be held throughout the Health System to celebrate Redeemer Week.
